The vision for community health in West Willow is to create a sustainable model for promoting the well-being of older adults through alliances with their neighbors and other vested groups, community-based organizations, business leaders, educational institutions and health care organizations.

How You Can Help: Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Healthy Together West Willow! We ask that volunteers follow social distancing guidelines as outlined by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) to ensure your experience volunteering is safe and healthy for everyone involved.

We’ve got some ideas on how you can help:

Volunteer as a group: Your group can help older adults stay in their homes by providing assistance with outdoor chores, like raking, shoveling snow, window washing, gardening — that older adults are unable to do themselves. We’re looking for volunteers throughout the year.

We need people to help with home maintenance: Use your tools and skills in carpentry, painting, plumbing, and more to help older adults maintain their homes. Let us know what your passionate about or love doing — we’ll find a place where you can use your gifts and impact others.

We are also looking for mowers and snow shovelers: Get outside to volunteer! It’s a commitment that’s great for building or nurturing a long-standing relationship with a senior neighbor in your community.

Friendly visits and wellness checks: We’re committed to West Willow seniors remaining independent as long as possible. Our Friendly Visitor program is a great way for volunteers to make weekly visits by phone or a video session to homebound seniors.
